China and India are the main source of tourists to Nepal, so government had decided to provide free visa, said Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari inaugurating the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) held in the capital on Thursday, he said that.

As the Nepal has aimed to pull 1 million tourists in NTY-2011, it has targeted 100,000 tourists alone from China, Bhandari added.

Speaking at the function, he also said that as the private sector’s support is necessary to boost tourism, the government is planning to include NATTA representative in the management committee of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) for the effective operation of the national flag carrier.

On the same occasion, other representatives also stressed on the need of NATTA for the promotion of the tourism sector and it also has the responsibility to bolster and make the tourism year a success.
