Ghorepani (Poon Hill Trek)

If you have time to do the full Ghore pani trek, you can get a taster of it by turning the first half into a circuit of four to six days. The route ambles through lush hill country taking in some lovely Gurung villages and, weather permitting, rewarding you with outstanding views of the Mt. Annapurnas and Mt. Machhapuchhre.The highest point reached is 3,200m, which shouldnt present any altitude problems, but is high enough to need warm clothes at night, and rain gear is also advisable. Several trails make for Poon Hill, all generally heading west of Pokhara. Most people start up the more southerly route, calling at Naudanda, Kaare and the picturesque streamside village of Birethanti . A day and a half northwest of Birethanti, and 2,000m higher, is Poon Hill: Poon mean a kind of ethnic group people of Nepal , called Magar, caste those who locally settlement around that area therefore this hill name is belong to Poon Hill. Watching the mountains at sunrise from here is probably the single most done thing in the trekking universe. From Poon Hill you can return through magnificent stands of giant rhodedendrons dripping with orchids to the pretty Gurung town of Ghandruk .

Day: 03 Potana to Ghandrung village (1940m,)

Day: 04 Ghorepani early in morning weak up morning 5. Am climb upto Poon hill (3190m,) see magnificent mountaion views afterbreakfast trek to Tadapani (2590m,)

Day: 05 Tadapani trek to Ghandrung village (1940m,)

Day: 06 Ghandrung village trek to Pothanna

Day: 07 Pothanna trek to Pokhara hotel.

Day: 80 Pokhara to Kathandu drive or fly back.
