A long north-south ridge famed for its rhodedendrons, the Milke Danda can be linked up with a visit to Chainpur for ten-day trek that combines spectacular flora with one of Nepals best bazaars (market). The route goes no higher than 3000m, but takes in plenty of mountain views. You can fly back to Kathmandu from Tumlingtar or trek back to Hille. A highaltitude extension of the Milke Danda trek north into the Jaljale Himal , returning to Taplejung or Phidim, takes at least two weeks and requires group support. The village near the highest point is Topke Gola.

Treks in the west of the Nepal are quite a different proposition to treks in order parts of the country. This part of Nepal is far less developed with fewer facilities available for visitors. Access is also far harder, especially to areas such as Humla, Jumla and Dolpa.
