Rara Lake camping Trek

Rara lake trek is a superior destination point for trekking in the west Nepal. The trail lead from "off the beaten path" and affords glimpses of culture and scenery widely different from other part of Nepal. Trekking in Rara Lake offers the best scenery within Rara national park, the smallest park with centerpiece biggest lake of Nepal. Along mountain trail and a series of picturesque villages, one reaches the magnificent banks of Rara lake. The park includes Trans- Himalayan valley with high ridges shelter with forest and alpine pastures field. Rara Lake can be found (10.8 sq. km. At 2,990 meters) is considered one of the finest parks in the world. The Park abounds in coniferous forest and the ideal home for the musk deer, Himalayan black bear and other high land fauna. The Danfe (Impeyan Pheasant) the national bird of Nepal, flies above while a variety of fish, snow trout, inhabit in the Rara lake. Besides all these features adding the charm to the region is friendly people with their open heart.   • Day 01 Arrival at the Tribhuvan International airport Kathmandu. Pick up by Sherpa Brothers treks representative, transfer to hotel check in and welcome drink from receptionist. Rest and briefing about trip, O/N in hotel with bed and breakfast
  • Day 02 Half day sightseeing around world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley  and preparation for the trip.  In the evening welcome dinner offer from Sherpa Brothers treks in Nepalese cultural restaurant, O/N in hotel with bed and breakfast
  • Day 03 Pick up from hotel and drive to domestic airport for fly to Nepalgunj, O/N in hotel with bed and breakfast
  • Day 04 Flight to Jumla [2,370m / 7,773ft], and trek to Uthugaon [2,530m / 8,298ft], O/N in tent : Approx 4 hrs.
  • Day 05 Trek to Danphe Lagna [3,500m / 11,480ft], O/N in tent : Approx 5 hours
  • Day 06 Trek to Chautha [2,770m / 9,085ft], O/N in tent : Approx  5 hours
  • Day 07 Trek to Dhotu [2,380m / 7,806ft], O/N in tent : Approx 6 hrs

3 nights in 3 star categories hotel with Deluxe BB in Kathmandu, standard hotel accommodation in Nepalgunj and North face twin sharing tent with full board meal during the trekking period. (Breakfast, Lunch, dinner and all hot drinks). Meals prepared by trained Sherpa Brothers cook and kitchen staff with high level of balance diet and maintain safety and hygiene during Rara lake trek. Nepali, Sherpa, Tibetan and Continental, Italian and Indian cousins will be served.

Physical fitness and experience required

During this trip each day 6-7 hours walking  level with your day bag pack, on moderate grade trail. Fitness and physically well is worth  for best trip. Though, it is not the altitude demanding trek but walking or jogging exercise since couple of weeks before of trek is ideal.  Previous hiking, trekking experience add more strength for walk. It is very necessary that participants with pre-existing medical problems or conditions should known to Sherpa Brothers Trek at the time of booking. Medical and evacuation expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

Travel Insurance

Sherpa Brothers Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. take every care to make our treks safe and enjoyable. All our routes are scouted to ensure the trails are safe and the facilities along route are of an acceptable standard. In addition, we have vast experience of trekking at altitude and are trained to deal with Acute Altitude Sickness. However, due to terrain, weather and altitude, risk is not always predictable in the Himalaya. To ensure you have a worry free time with us, personal travel insurance is essential to cover the cost of unforeseen accident, illness or rescue. The costs involved can be large and personally overwhelming in the unlikely event of accident or injury.
All Nepalese staff, guides and porters employed by Sherpa Brothers Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. are covered locally but we regret that we cannot offer insurance for our clients.
